Merry Christmas!
December 28th, 2006 by kersoonIt’s Christmas again. Time really flies. Remembered last year celebrated by having BBQ at friend’s place. This time… well, actually planned to stay at home whole day to get more rest after a hectic schedule.
But somehow, i ended up with Icey, Fionne & Sean at The Curve till midnight. Sensing that there wont be any fireworks or something spectular there, we started to run away from the crowd coz we dont want to get dirty by the foams & spraying cans. At least we only received a little bit damage, rather than a large one if we were to stay on xD
Mum came to KL 2 days ago to check out our new house at Kepong. So yesterday after work, i went to Kepong to have dinner with her & uncle and also to see the location of the new house. Driving back from work from Menara TM to Kepong is unfavourable. Traffic jam… far… tired… -.- Makes me think twice whether to move into the new house or not.
But after having a look at the house, i kinda like it a lot although only have a view from the outside since there was no key to enter the house. Well, if DHL confirms me as their permanent staff then i think i will only go back to the new house during weekends. Other than that, i think i better stay at my current place. Nearer to my workplace though… heh.
Most likely after CNY the house would be ready. But i would prefer to delay it till March so some little renovations could be done to improve certain areas of the house. I was hoping to have a considerably "moderate" size of garden, but it ended up only around 3 feet width garden with approximately 17 feet length at the side of the house. It dashes my hope to construct a fish pond there to rear my beloved kois. Ahhh…
It gonna be 1 month since i started working with DHL. Pretty fun, i’m enjoying myself here. Though sometimes the job are kinda bored coz updating thousands of customer databases, but i believe in January next month my tasks would be more challenging as i’m in the Research & Planning division. My immediate boss treated me really well, really sayang me. That’s why my tasks are little & easy =/ Oh well… perhaps i’m still new in that company.
My first ever Christmas tree decoration xD
My department went to Ikea & bought a lot of decorations for Christmas. Since i was kinda free that time, i decorated the tree. Fun =p
Finally…
December 11th, 2006 by kersoonI was about to sleep when my mobile phone suddenly beeps… i received a message. I was wondering who would be messaging me late at night… it was Aina. She brought me a great news. My world was immediately lighted.
The long awaited moment has arrived. I’ve waited so long for this moment to come. West Ham finally sack Alan Pardew. I’ve been a long West Ham fan since a couple of years ago when i started playing Championship Manager. Though it is a small club, but it is rich in history. So far in the recent years, West Ham have produced top quality players; Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Jermaine Defoe and Michael Carrick.
If it’s not because of relegation; Cole, Defoe & Carrick would have stayed on in West Ham. Anywayz, now without Pardew in charge of the team i’m already very happy. I’ve longed enough for this moment for a very long time ago, perhaps from the start of the season when strings of consecutive defeats surfaced. He is good, but this time has past. It’s time to install a new manager =)
The Beginning of A New Chapter
November 22nd, 2006 by kersoonIt is over. The day i thought about it since few years ago has finally arrived. I had my last paper on Monday, it was a bit tough. Advanced Marketing Research, as usual… a killing subject. There are so many theories and stuffs to memorize. 13 essay questions to answer in 3 hours time. Results gonna be out on 4th December, approximately 2 weeks from now.
Since the 2nd week of November, i couldnt get proper sleep. 13th 14th 16th 20th Nov. A tough week indeed. Didnt sleep for the entire night just to prepare more for AMR. It was okay, but could be improved further. After AMR exam came back play pc game whole day though. Around 8pm while waiting for Hilda to wake up from her sleep to go for dinner, i thought of resting a while on the bed. Who knew, i only woke up the next day at 11am. A new record indeed. Skipped dinner & bath >"<
Today is the 22nd Nov. Earlier in the afternoon had an interview with DHL regarding my industrial training with them. Well, the interview was short… around 20 minutes and interviewer didnt ask me a lot of questions. Perhaps she already expected to recruit me. So after so discussions with her and another senior staff, i shall report to work on 1st Dec. It’s at Menara TM, around 10 minutes drive from my place *provided traffic is clear.
Looks like this gave me an excuse to do some shopping -_- I only have 2 long sleeve shirts, and i had to get a few more extra. Crapz. I’m so not prepared to enter the working world so fast. Most of my classmates are enjoying holidays now. While me? I’m so tied up! Barely few days after my exam i shall start working. If i do well, they will offer me a permanent job with them.
Ahhh… life. Perhaps i should get some sleep soon. Gotta work part time for Clarks warehouse sale again from 23rd-27th Nov, this time at Shah Alam. The only problem is i dont know how to get to that place. Even with the map given, have no idea how to go to -.- Looks like hefta depart early to find the route >.<
Looks like my hectic semester hasnt end yet. Well i thought after exams, everything is over. But sigh… now what also got. Interview la… part time work la… workshop training la… other training programmes la… my schedule almost fixed until next year =.= Anywayz, i’m loving it =)
It was canceled…
November 10th, 2006 by kersoonSupposingly tomorrow Saturday 11th November is to go trekking up Gunung Datuk, as agreed with TMC yesterday night. Unfortunately, i received a SMS from him just now saying that he was struck down with a fever. So… he wont be able to make it. He asked me to continue on with Nee Onn & the rest without him. But i was quick to withdraw; i am not mentally prepared to go trekking without TMC.
Been to so many treks over the span of 3 years & 10 months, since the day i came to Sunway College. It has been great. I loved all the treks, and managed to discover more bout myself. What i can say is that I’m quite associated with the nature. I enjoyed getting dirty & tiring myself running in the jungle for hours just to reach the peak. Leech bites, scratches, soaky, humidity are parts of the proccess.
Other than that, another sport that i loved so much but dont have the chance to play it… scuba diving. I always liked to recall the memories when i went diving in Pulau Tioman 3 years back. The day how i got started with this sport, the training classes in the swimming pool… and finally the open sea. It is absolutely wonderful to swim in the sea along with the fishes which i’ve never seen before. The best moment for a diving would be excellent corals + numerous fishes plus a sighting of rare species like turtles, sting rays and sharks. Hopefully i’ll be able to spend more time with this sport when i’m out working.
Anywayz, exams starting on 13th, 14th, 16th and 20th which is next week. It is really my last semester. Managed to scored great internal marks for several subjects and i’m out to aim high… as usual, always wanted to end in a high. Hopefully everything went smoothly according to plan. Has been a great but hectic semester, i’m lovin’ it.
Sabah Trip 21-24 Oct ‘06
October 26th, 2006 by kersoonWhat i would is, it was a perfect getaway at the perfect time. Having to endure the madness weeks before… constantly pushing to the limit for assignments, i couldnt ask for more from this trip. Well, flight tickets were bought in July and lucky i worked 1 week part time just enough to cover the flight fees.
I was so relieved that all my assignments were handed in by 20th Oct, no more nightmares and sleepless nights. 5 of us went, practically me, Kellie, Fione, Sean & Brian and met up with Hannah over there at Sabah since she went back there 2 days earlier than me. We took Air Asia flight, 360RM for it. We chose to stay in apartment hotel rather than just hotel ‘coz it is way cheaper for all of us. A nice apartment to stay, with 3 rooms, 2 toilets, a kitchen & living room.
Didnt travel much though, ‘coz no transport and dont know where to go. Initial purpose was to visit a friend there, but somehow that friend went missing for quite sometime… so we go ahead with it. What i love best was the seafood there… absolutely fantastic. Although a bit pricy, but it was well worth trying it. We had 2 seafood dinner, the first one costs us around 290RM++ and the second one is about 250RM++. The sea creatures are way much bigger than those available at other places… cool!
Spent most of the time in the apartment… as 2 of us brought lap tops, we watched movies and played cards. The apartment were pretty cold as we full blasted the 4 air-conds 24/7. So we wrap ourselves in blankets, yeah we enjoyed it a lot. Brian is the absolute joker, he made the real difference in this trip. Well, he came up with weird rules for playing cards… and ended up he is the victim himself xD We bought too much drinks, and tried to finish it with the cards. So those who got 2nd place and finishing the game with 8 cards and above will need to drink. I think we drank around 15 litres of water for that game alone.
Went to Manukan Island too with Hannah. What i can say is it is not a nice place for snorkelling. It is a disaster. Once go into the water, cant see a thing ‘coz the water visibility is so damm poor… i think around 5m only. All dead corals, very little fishes. Haihz… The only thing nice is the beach and surrounding view. We stayed there for few hours, and 3 of us played sand like mad… kekeke.
I spent approximately 900RM for this trip… crazy eh? Minus the flights, 1 day i spent around 100RM… gagaga. But i’m very happy with it… perhaps my best trip ever though. I’ve never enjoyed it until this extend. Now back to KL, it’s time to prepare yet again for finals which is coming in 3 weeks time. After this, no more finals for me… i’m graduating. How sad.
I have too many pictures, so i’ll just upload some of them ba.
It’s Overrrrrrr!!
October 20th, 2006 by kersoonI’m so glad that assignments are finally over, no more sleepless night and pressure. 2 months of consistent pressurizing life, really memorable. I’ll always remember how we had to stay back most of the time after class just to discuss on how to do the assignments.
Yeap, there’s something to cheer about but at the same time, i found it yet again… pretty hard to adjust myself to this new situation. Basically, there’s no more assignment and now am pretty free. Many times today i felt so uneasy ‘coz i’m not doing anything. Great… i’ll definitely have this kind of feeling again after finals next month.
After class, me Aina and Yune gathered at Inspiration Square and discussed about Aina’s earlier interview. She said it was good, and it’s only 30 min. I went back at 1pm to iron my shirt and get changed. 145pm reach school again and quite suprised to see Aina still sitting at the same place. Well, she was waiting for Yune. Then she helped me adjust my collar… the formal shirt that i wore for this year’s VU Nite.
My interview was scheduled at 2pm, however the interview was delayed 20min ‘coz the interviewers had a late lunch. So while waiting, i chatted with Choy Lin who had the same slot with me. Then i was called into the meeting room by a young good looking lady. As what i expected, the interview was really informal… ended up become like casual talking.
What really made me amused was her reactions when she asked bout my interests. She was writing half way and i said my main interest is cooking. She stopped immediately, gave me a suprised look and said "I beg your pardon?" And i repeated it again. I was thinking at that moment… is there anything wrong with guys like to cook? I felt a bit odd, almost everyone that i told i love cooking… they gave almost similiar responses. The interview lasted 25 minutes.
Reach home, tried to sleep a while but cant. So ended up playing some games. Went for dinner, came back home felt boring again… there’s nothing to do. I dont want to engage into preparing for finals so soon… so ended up cleaning the house instead. Rats… it was really dirty. Perhaps already 3 weeks since the last time i cleaned it. After housekeeping, then pack my stuffs for Sabah later. That’s about it… almost 230am now. Time to get some sleep before waking up at 5am and head out to KL Sentral soon. Gagaga…
It stoned me…
October 19th, 2006 by kersoonIt was around 1120am after IM lecture today. Me, Aina, Yune and Farhan had decided to meet up to finish up SITO assignment which is due on Friday 20th October. Me, Aina and Yune sat at inspiration square. Suet Chin came and chit chatted with Yune, while i was preparing to do my part. Half way doing, Aina showed me a The Sun article and asked me to read it.
I have no interest to read paper actually, but the headline is a bit catchy. So i read the article… it’s about a female German Shepard dog named Jesse. She lived in the house with her handicapped owner and a family cat for years. A fire was reportedly started by another cat which accidently knocked down a candle.
Immediately realizing there was a fire, she grabbed the mobile phone with her mouth and gave to her owner to call the fire department. Then, Jesse grabbed her owner’s stick which would ease her movement before dragging her owner out from the burning house. Both of them are already safe outside of the house, but Jesse ran back into the burning house when she heard the family cat’s crying for help. She did not make it. Both Jesse and the cat were burnt to death.
After reading the article, i was really stoned. Even Aina felt something is wrong with me. Somehow, i found it very touching and felt pitiful that Jesse’s life ended in this way. She saved her owner’s life, and tried to save the life of the family’s cat… but she could not make it. Poor thing… I felt like crying for her now.
We stayed in the library for few hours to complete the assignment, but i had to leave at 415pm to fetch Hannah & Hilda to KLIA. It was darn tiring having to endure a torturing week -_- After reaching Subang, sent car for mandi. Then came back finish up SITO assignment. Later hefta prepare for tomorrow Prudential’s interview >.<
A sigh of relief, no?
October 13th, 2006 by kersoon13th of October… due date for SITO individual assignment & AMR presentation. 14th & 15th of October… MPS block teaching. 16th of October… due date for AMR group assignment. 18th of October… due date for MPS group assignment. 20th of October… due date for SITO group assignment. Final exams, 13th of November… SITO finals. 14th of November… IM finals. 16th of November… MPS finals. 20th of November… AMR finals.
When i first looked at these dates few weeks back, i knew it’s another run in the hell for most of us. Well, as university undergrad and already in VU for 6 semesters… it shouldnt be a problem though. What i could say we were well trained over the years, and luckily we still can handle this semester although it is a little bit too heavy for the students. Even lecturers also complain our semester is a bit too hectic.
I seem to like… over-exaggerated each time when my juniors asked how my semester was. After hearing my story, they got scared. Told them my schedule… the craziness due dates and finals dates. Told them the amount of work and effort required for these assignments… they say we are mad. Usually 1st 2nd year students, their group assignments only need around 3500 words. Ours? Group assignments up to 100 pages with 20000 words depending on subjects, roughly 4000 words per person. Sounds a lot, but actually it is really not enough. When they reach our stage, they’ll understand it. If cant cope with the pressure and workload, breakdown and cry occassionaly is so common.
Just 2nd week into class, already felt the pressure… knew it gonna be a rough journey upfront. Recently college has really been our 2nd home. Kept on staying back to rush assignments… brilliant. IM group assignment accomplished, now it’s AMR. Just had presentation earlier, lecturer said our group presentation is among one of the best… we’re glad and pretty happy with the amount of efforts put in.
Another 1 crazy week to go through… well, perhaps the last time i could enjoy as a student before graduating. Somehow, i’m started to get used to it and seems to enjoy with this kind of life. Just that sometimes pressure like mad, and other people keep adding pressure… it’s not favourable though.
After lunch supposingly to head back to library com lab to prepare for AMR presentation, then bumped into Vivian. She looked pretty jovial, so stopped by a while to chat. She told me Stephanie and her were selected for VU exchange student programme next year out of approximately 20 applicants. I’m excited for her too, then asked her few questions about how she got it.
She was pressured by Ms Irene to apply for it. So she applied, an had to go for interview with Ms Irene later on… a screening process i would say. The finalizing would be done by Ms Irene and Mrs Lim. She even told me she saw another student with academic results Ds & HDs, but was rejected. Perhaps that student was not active in other activities, that’s why got rejected. Then she talked bout me, saying Mr Zain always complain bout me rejecting the offer to go to Melbourne.
Well, i was offered to go to Melbourne after semester 2 but i turned it down. Semesters after semesters the AUP staffs & lecturers kept asking me to go, but the answer is still the same. Simple summary, i found it very hard to part from VU Sunway, along with some other minor reasons. Although just 2 years in Sunway, but i’m already pretty attached to Sunway.
I was quite suprised when Vivian told me only 2 got selected to go over there after interviewing & other processes. Means that the chances of going overseas are pretty slim. Now I only realized that i’ve turned down big chances several times, where other people wanted eargerly to go over to Melbourne but couldnt. I’m not regreting over it as i’ve lived all this while without learning to regret. I’m happy with my life now, and best of luck to others.
I just cant wait for next week to over… I’m going to Sabah from 21st-24th October xD Really a nice timing to wind up from the hectic schedule, before preparing for finals. Hurhur~
Fasting Month
October 8th, 2006 by kersoonIt’s Ramadhan again, Raya is around the corner. Time really flies. Now is entering mid of October… i’m graduating soon!! Hurhur… how i wish if i can go back semester 1 and start all over again. It is so fun… i definitely gonna miss VU life after this year =(
Well, i fasted on last Friday 6th Oct. Already planned for quite sometime to fast few weeks back since my last time fasting was like almost 5 years ago. And i fasted in somehow unfavourable condition for me.
Was rushing IM assignment, so didnt sleep for the entire day. Now i remembered why i dont like being the all rounder… especially compilling and editing. It is so tedious. Took me so long to read other group members’ work and editing them. To make things worst, the English grammer and comprehension is bad.
Sometimes i just dont understand the flow of the sentence. Read this way, it means this thing. Read the other way, it means another. Zzz… Luckily its only 3500 words, it is still manageable before things run out of hand.
It was 510am, so i asked Hilda to come along to tapau breakfast. Got prepared and started fasting at 6am sharp. So continued my work. Barely 3 hours later, i started to feel hungry. Darn, my stomach i really on time. Anyhow i dun care, i’ll fast for the day. No food, no water, not even a drip of saliva until 710pm.
After passing up assignment, went for movie "Devil Wears Prada" at Pyramid. Then played bowling with Dexter. Suprisingly i’m still so energetic even though without sleep & food. Got back home around 540pm. Was waiting for confirmation from Hannah where to dinner later. Saw Hilda sleeping so syok on bed, made me go take a short rest too until its time to break fast. The only thing in my mind is to get a nice cup of soda water to break fast.. gagaga. Ended up i slept till 9pm. If Hannah didnt wake me up, i bet i’ll wake up the next morning xD
What’s so nice bout fasting? Actually, the answer differs with different people. To me, coz we didnt take any food or drinks for the entire day… and when it’s time to eat, the food seems to be much more delicious. Well, its the hunger factor. If you’re full, even though the food is your favourite one, but you wont feel it is as nice as before ‘coz you’re getting full.
I have and always will believe that suffering actually makes us a better person. It actually helps to change the mindset and way of thinking though. So it is a good thing that we get exposed to many many challenges and events. Not just get to learn new stuffs, but also able to get a bigger view out of our square box.
Now with the recent haze that got worse recently, i pity those who fast at outdoor though. Cant drink water, rats. Darn Indonesia… Why must they always burn and burn and burn at certain season, causing their neighbouring countries to suffer the aftermath consequences? All empty promises. What been said have not been done or ignored. Darn ASEAN too, what happened to the Transborder Pollution Act? Cant they do something bout it? =.= They have not been enforcing the laws strict enough.
